Beatles Complete Song Set I have just completed a project to collect the minimum CD set required to represent the entire officially published song collection for the Beatles. There are various accounts of how many songs there are and the titles but I chose the song list from the following web site as my reference point: http://www.beatlesagain.com/btsongs.html. This list catalogs 289 songs. When you are done with the collection, there are 285 tracks because 4 of the songs are found attached to others in medleys:
The playing time is 12.6 hours. My objective was to prioritize: the original release, a subsequent release/alternate take if it sounds better, live if it offers something. Almost all of my choices were the original release with few exceptions. This is the minimum CD set (22) that is required to get you all of the tracks is with the above rules in mind. If you buy these 22 CD's, you will have the entire Beatles officially release song collection plus some interviews and alternate versions. Enjoy:
